About

Welcome to After Debt Now.

This is not a polished finance blog written by someone who has it all figured out. It is an honest, real-time account of one person working his way out of debt and rebuilding his income, written while it is actually happening. Some of it is working. Some of it is not. I am going to show you both.

Where I am right now: I am not writing this from the other side of the finish line. I am in the middle of it. Like a lot of people, I am carrying debt I want gone, and I am trying to generate income in a job market that is not cooperating. I have applied, waited, and heard nothing back more times than I can count. So I am building other ways to make money, testing what actually pays and what is just noise, and keeping the record here.

What this blog will be: the unvarnished version. Real numbers. What I try, what it costs, and what it returns. Practical ground I have covered myself on getting out of debt, budgeting, and credit, plus the harder question of how you build income when a paycheck is not showing up. When something works, I will tell you how. When something fails, I will tell you that too, because the failures are the part everyone else leaves out.

Why I am anonymous: because anonymity is what lets me be honest. I can share the real figures and the real setbacks without it following me into the rest of my life or landing on my family. I am a real person. I live on the west coast of the United States with my family. I have come back from hard downturns before, and I intend to again. I will share who I am in due time.

What I am not doing: selling you a course, a coaching program, or a shortcut. I do not profit from the choices you make. That independence is the whole point. If I ever point you to a tool, it is because I actually use it.

So join me, and hold me accountable. As much as you might need what I put here, I need your support to see this next chapter through. I laid out my goals in my first post, and I will keep this honest and updated as I move through them.

Money management for the rest of us.
